Digital Printing is the quickest printing method. Not only it is fast, it is at its best when it comes to shorter print runs. Say, you need a few numbers of business cards or flyers; opting digital printing will reduce your cost and have the additional benefit of time saving.

Digital printing is less expensive for short print runs because, it requires less time, less manpower, less energy and less consumable. Digital printers has wider gamut than offset or lithographic printing hence can produce vibrant colours on paper. However some type of jobs, particularly those that has solid colours may not look well when printed digitally.

Digital printers have the biggest advantage of printing each copy different. Called as Variable Data Printing (VDP), this ability gives us immense opportunity when it comes to printing personally addressed certificates, invitations or marketing communications. Only digital printers can do this.

DESCO has been into Digital Printing for over a quarter of a century now. DESCO has digital printing presses inDubaiandAbu Dhabi. What is more important when it comes to digital printing is the finishing part. There may be many digital printers inDubai, but what makes DESCO different is its extensive in-house facilities for finishing; like bindery, foil stamping, lamination etc.

Business cards are a kind of expression of your identity. It shows the personality of the company you are representing or you as person, if you don’t represent a company. The fonts used, layout, the colours, the orientation and the print quality of the business card are all a kind of self-expression of one’s individuality, thinking and perspective. Some of you might disagree, but its true!

Let’s examine. People those who like sleek fonts and a lot of clear white space are sort of creative nuts who are socially meek and those who is looking for their own space in the world. Those who use bold fonts and brighter colours are people who are stubborn and aggressive. The business cards which are just normal, with centre alignment, logo on top and normal text are the normal class, who doesn’t care about the world around them and the ones who take the life as it comes. Some of the cards will have lot many logos, all crammed together, one may wonder they are competing each other. Those business cards, for sure, are of traders who will be representing one and all under the sun.

Did you think – “no.. the designer creates the card and it’s his/her creativity, nothing to do with me as a person”. Sorry, who is the one approved it? Who told to use Garamond instead of the designer’s choice of Helvetica? Who told the designer to change the Pantone 313 to Peacock Blue? And finally, why you settled upon a glossy paper, while the designer suggested a Matte finish! Because the business card the first level of exposure of “you” to the people out there, you want it to be the best!

Of all, some business cards really stand-out. There could be perfect blend when the creativity and personal preference meet together at its finer point. Those business cards are those people which always get noticed and evoke awe at the receiving end.

The most simple, easy to differentiate business cards are rounded corner business cards. They usually stand out of the crowd and are not so expensive to make. Cards with metal foils, embossing or die-cuts will also help your business cards look ‘wow’.

DESCO has a variety of options for you when it comes to printing business cards. DESCO team can help you design, choose the right paper and suggest you the right method of printing. Contact us now to print your business card today!

Good question. When millions of trees, more precisely 10 Million trees, are cut every day for paper and lots of chemicals being flood out of ink manufacturing units and printing presses the question may seem to be out of place. No, not really. You cannot avoid all but can compensate or minimise the loss of some and reduce the impact. Not all papers you see use trees and most of it is recycled. You cannot avoid paper by far, but what about reusing or minimizing the use or recycling them?

When it comes to environment, society and mending the world we all think of major steps, big moves and end of the day stop where we started. No big leaps can be made without small steps. It is the small, humble steps that made the mankind achieve great heights. So what you can do today to save the planet, when it comes to print?

The modern developments in printing technology have helped the mankind to drastically reduce the carbon emissions. Combined with a bit of social commitment from the printing companies, there is a lot that can be done to minimize the damage to the environment. As a customer, choose the print method that has minimal wastage during the process – wastage of paper, ink and energy.

In comparison to Offset Printing, the new era Digital Printing effectively cut down carbon emissions, reduces wastage drastically and saves lot of energy. Because digital print equipmentsare Energy Star complaint, it has energy saving modes and optimal energy consumption levels.

DESCO has implemented environment conservation measures in its print centres and promote recycled papers to our customers, among other suggestions to be environment friendly.

The industry of printing in UAE is hurdling back to normalcy after a short sting of recessionary pressure that inflicted the UAE market in synchrony with the global economic down turn. According to various reports appeared in trade magazines, industry players have commented that they have seen positive trends during the last year (2012) and they hope to see the trend continue doing so, if not better, during this year as well.

The UAE Printing Presses are expecting their share of business with the recent announcement of billions dollar worth of investments announced during the past few months in the UAE. The recession of year 2000 badly affected printing presses, large and small, with a handful of them succumbing to the stroke. Learning the lessons from the bad experience, printing presses in UAE are now more cautious and hold themselves off from extraneous investments.

DESCO has been a consistent player in the printing business in UAE with a long legacy of more than 25 years now. Though marginal, DESCO also had its share of bad time during the recession. But the immediate strategy changes and management expertise drove DESCO out of the groove quickly.
Like everyone else in Dubai, we also look forward to the World Expo 2020 and to the great business opportunities that may come along the Expo.
