The industry of printing in UAE is hurdling back to normalcy after a short sting of recessionary pressure that inflicted the UAE market in synchrony with the global economic down turn. According to various reports appeared in trade magazines, industry players have commented that they have seen positive trends during the last year (2012) and they hope to see the trend continue doing so, if not better, during this year as well.
The UAE Printing Presses are expecting their share of business with the recent announcement of billions dollar worth of investments announced during the past few months in the UAE. The recession of year 2000 badly affected printing presses, large and small, with a handful of them succumbing to the stroke. Learning the lessons from the bad experience, printing presses in UAE are now more cautious and hold themselves off from extraneous investments.
DESCO has been a consistent player in the printing business in UAE with a long legacy of more than 30 years now. Though marginal, DESCO also had its share of bad time during the recession. But the immediate strategy changes and management expertise drove DESCO out of the groove quickly.
